Here begins the recap:

Israel, seeing that his parents were exhausted, sent us off for a naptime while he made dinner. I envisioned imaginary chicken and rice on Caroline's tin tea set, but we awoke to this:

And yes, the burner was on.

Noah's first food words

baby boon [spoon], baby hork [fork], bean, brea[d], cake, cookie dough, cuc[umber], drie[d] pea[ch], egg, ju[ice], my my pee [may I please], oakmeal [oatmeal], orange, pie[ce], pop[sicle], [s]cone, hoop [soup], tea, wa[ter], wine

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

I ventured into Marda panettone today. Caroline went promptly outside and stuck herself with a rose thorn.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Israel was just wonderng, "do we get tofu from pigs?"

Friday, September 18, 2009

Someone was feeling stingy up at the henhouse.

The dark brown egg (the size of a large acorn) had no yolk.

Monday, September 14, 2009

To help Aaron gain 10 pounds I've been making his yogurt with half n' half. Said visit, I am happy to report, occured yesterday afternoon. Seeing as the Food Section was on offal this week, Aaron went straight for the pig trotters. I had a pasty. Other fun things like pheasant rillets, duck sausage, haggis, and "bubble and squeak" were on the menu (for our next visit). We also had pints of Heppenton Farmhouse Ale, the first time I've encountered a trappist ale on tap. It almost made one want to live in Redwood City.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Because he's that kind of kid Noah added his own personal touch to the solfege scale I was teaching him: do, re, mi, fa, so, la ti, do cookie dough.
